Thanks Angie,

I am picking up things every day I would never get from Google. I agree - it's awesome!

Great post! I agree that most start out with social media and completely mistake the value of it. Sure, building relationships with people you would have otherwise never "met" is valuable, but the true value comes from all that is right at your fingertips...the ability to LEARN. Often, that's overlooked. Some get wrapped up in promoting or branding themselves and miss the most important thing out there...KNOWLEDGE. Knowledge is the one thing that we truly can never get enough of and the one thing that can never be taken from us.

Like I said earlier, GREAT post!

Thanks Keith,
Your post is encouraging. It's really hard to assess the real value and ROI from all this effort.

As far as the iPhone is concerned, I was doing research for a "student" who has one. I didn't realize there was an iPhone version of Tweetdeck. If it were me I would be up for it because that's my desktop tool of choice. (I'm hoping for a Droid for Christmas!! ;)

Gabe,
Great post. My organization is just starting to get into utilizing social media as promotional/networking tools, but I've been using it to listen/learn for a while. There are so many resources out there! I especially like your comment that you treat the multiple venues as "one package." From What I've noticed, that's when I see it working the best.
On a personal note, you may want to look at Tweetdeck for you iphone. It's a great desktop tool, and how you organize your feed into groups on your computer is how it shows up on the iphone (not sure if iphone has LinkedIn or Facebook support yet, but the desktop version does).

Thanks,
Keith

Gabe,

Very, very funny! I met @Pistachio at the Boston #tweetsgiving event, but did not know about OneForty.com!

So it is you who are teaching me, my friend. Also, you taught me more about how non-profits can use Twitter, and I frequently tell other non-profits to follow you as an example of hard work and sincerity.

John

P.S. Thanks for the link love about “31 Day Challenge: Optimize Your Blog For Social Media”
